iGrant.io joins France Identité EUDIW Unfold #4 to demonstrate Passwordless Login with EUDI Wallet

Description

iGrant.io participates in EUDIW Unfold #4 to demonstrate how Passwordless Login with EUDI Wallet can help organisations move beyond traditional password-based authentication.

Representing iGrant.io, Benjamin Hansson presents a live demo to the EU Digital Identity Wallet community, showing how cryptographically verified wallet credentials can securely authenticate users, with greater user control and no passwords. The session includes a practical walkthrough of enabling and using Passwordless Login with EUDI Wallet, followed by a Q&A with the ecosystem.

Event Details

Session: EUDIW Unfold #4 – Interop event by France Identité
Date: 8 July 2026, 14:30 – 16:30 CET
Location: Issy-les-Moulineaux, Paris, France (Hybrid event)

EUDIW Unfold #4 is organised around the theme “Shape what’s next”, bringing together France Identité playground partners and the wider European Digital Identity Wallet ecosystem to demonstrate practical, real-life wallet use cases. The programme includes partner demos, an Interop Week Review, and an Interop Week Award session during the event wrap-up.

Moving from passwords to wallet-based authentication

Password-based login remains one of the weakest points in digital access journeys, creating risks around phishing, credential reuse, password fatigue, and operational overhead from password reset flows.

With EUDI Wallet-based authentication, the login experience can be redesigned around verifiable credentials. Instead of relying on a password, the user presents a credential from their wallet, approves the request, and completes authentication through a cryptographically verifiable flow.

iGrant.io’s Passwordless Login approach connects the Organisation Wallet Suite with existing IAM infrastructure such as Keycloak, enabling a “Sign in with EUDI Wallet” capability using credentials such as Person Identification Data (PID), Photo ID, and Strong Customer Authentication credentials. Passwordless Login with EUDI Wallet

The demonstration highlights how EUDI Wallet credentials can support secure, user-centric authentication while integrating with existing enterprise login systems. See how a relying party can:

  • Configure wallet-based login for a digital service
  • Initiate a credential-based authentication request
  • Allow the user to approve the request from their EUDI Wallet
  • Verify the credential cryptographically
  • Complete login without using a password

Earlier participation in EUDIW Unfold interop events

During EUDIW Unfold #2.2, iGrant.io’s Organisation Wallet Suite earned the “Ready for France Identité” badge, recognising its interoperability and compliance with the French EUDI Wallet ecosystem. The #2.2 session brought together 63 organisations and focused on testing real-world EUDI Wallet scenarios across remote and proximity flows.

At EUDIW Unfold #3.1, iGrant.io participated in practical Age Verification interoperability testing across the EUDI Wallet ecosystem. The session focused on how age-related credentials can be issued, shared, and verified across different implementations, including online and proximity scenarios.

Why this matters

Passwordless Login with EUDI Wallet connects digital identity infrastructure to an everyday user journey: signing in to an online service.

For relying parties, this creates a standards-based way to authenticate users with stronger assurance and lower credential-related risk. For users, it provides a more controlled login experience, where they approve credential sharing from their wallet instead of managing an additional password. For the wider ecosystem, it shows how EUDI Wallet credentials can be integrated into practical service environments, including existing IAM systems.

As the EUDI Wallet ecosystem moves towards large-scale deployment, demonstrations like Unfold #4 help validate how wallet-based authentication can work in real-world relying-party scenarios.
