iGrant.io develops an AI skills marketplace and integration framework for ITU-Giga

Description

Stockholm, 6 October 2026

What began as an education wallet showcase has evolved into an AI-assisted integration assistant for education wallets, developed by iGrant.io for the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and Giga, aligned with eIDAS 2.0 and the EUDI Wallet framework.

The skills marketplace and its integration framework give governments, educational institutions and technology providers a practical way to digitalise education services using verifiable credentials and open standards, with integrators using the published skills directly through their chosen AI agent.

Built using the Organisation Wallet Suite and Data Wallet by iGrant.io, the environment demonstrates an end-to-end journey covering student enrolment, issuance of verifiable credentials, storage, payment, verification, reuse and revocation.

Publishing integration knowledge as reusable skills

The Skills Marketplace, hosted on GovStack, is where technology providers can publish reviewed AI agent skills that contain the knowledge needed to integrate their solutions. Governments and institutions can complement these with regulations, policies and implementation guidance, giving development teams access to both technical and institutional knowledge without having to interpret every specification independently.

Lal Chandran, CTO, iGrant.io: “Digital identity wallets are easy to want and hard to integrate. Teams face OpenID4VC protocols, credential formats, trust registries and eIDAS 2.0 compliance all at once, and that learning curve, not the technology, is the real bottleneck in digital transformation. So we built a marketplace where multiple vendors publish their integration knowledge as reusable AI agent skills, grounded in open standards and verifiable credentials, and a framework that lets integrators use those skills through whichever AI agent they already work with. It turns months of reading specifications into days of building. Solve the hard part once, then reuse it everywhere.”

Four capabilities in one place

  • Build with confidence: Access practical guidance, standards and resources for developing interoperable education wallet applications.
  • Publish and reuse AI skills: Technology providers can contribute AI agent skills, while governments and institutions can publish regulations, policies and implementation guidance.
  • Explore real-world use cases: Follow the education journey from school applications and enrolment through payments, digital degree issuance, job applications and credential revocation.
  • Experience it live: Step through connected education services using a working digital wallet demonstration.

Who it is for

For schools, colleges and universities, verifiable credentials can simplify how learner records are managed, issued and verified. Learners gain greater control over their academic credentials, while employers, universities and other organisations can verify qualifications shared through a digital wallet.

The platform is also relevant to ministries of education, digital transformation teams, digital public infrastructure (DPI) implementers, wallet providers, and development partners looking to modernise education services while using existing digital infrastructure and reusable building blocks.

Lotta Lundin, CEO, iGrant.io: “Together with ITU-Giga, we’re showing how AI and digital wallets can make trusted education credentials easier to use, share and recognise, wherever people choose to study or work. By making knowledge and solutions reusable, we can also reduce the cost and effort of bringing these services to life.”

Beyond education

While education is the demonstrated use case, the same model of verifiable credentials and reusable AI skills can extend to other digital public services, including healthcare, social protection and professional credentials.

By bringing implementation knowledge, reusable skills, end-to-end use cases, and a working demonstration into a single environment, the project shows how AI can help institutions move more quickly from digitalisation plans to services they can build, test and adapt.
