iGrant.io joins France Identité's EUDIW Unfold #4.1 Interop Week

Fragmentation across standards and credential formats remains a challenge for the EUDI Wallet ecosystem, making it harder for wallets, issuers and verifiers to work together reliably. Testing across a broad range of implementations and scenarios helps identify compatibility gaps and resolve integration issues.

iGrant.io participates in the France Identité EUDIW Unfold #4.1 Interop Week from 21–25 September 2026 to test Organisation Wallet Suite (EU Business Wallet) and the Data Wallet alongside other implementations, strengthening interoperability across credential issuance, presentation, and verification. The programme covers identity and age-verification credentials, driving licences, vehicle registrations, and Photo ID scenarios. View the event details.

Usecases and scenarios

The testing programme brings together several credential types to assess interoperability across different implementations. These scenarios form the event’s testing scope, giving participants opportunities to test compatible implementations across different credential types and formats

• Person Identification Data (PID): Identity credentials specified in the EUDI Wallet Architecture and Reference Framework (ARF).
• Age verification: Credentials that follow the European Commission’s age verification (AV) issuance profile.
• Mobile driving licence (mDL): Driving licence credentials specified in the ARF and relevant ISO standards.
• Photo ID: Photo identity credentials specified in the ARF and ISO/IEC 23220-4. As demonstrated here.
• Mobile vehicle registration certificate (mVRC): Digital vehicle registration credentials.

EUDI Wallet testing scenarios

The scenarios help participants assess interoperability across online services and identify differences among supported standards, formats, and implementations.

Remote credential issuance

The programme includes OpenID4VCI 1.0 with the High Assurance Interoperability Profile (HAIP) for issuing mdoc and SD-JWT VC credentials.

Remote credential presentation

Testing covers OpenID4VP 1.0 with HAIP through redirects and the W3C Digital Credentials API (DC API), supporting mdoc and SD-JWT VC credentials. Additional scenarios cover the European age verification profile and ISO/IEC 18013-7 presentation flows for mdoc, including HTML and DC API paths.

iGrant.io returns to Unfold #4.1 with three recognitions from earlier interoperability work:

• Ready for France Identité: Earned following testing of the Organisation Wallet Suite at Unfold #2.2 across credential issuance, presentation and verification in remote and proximity scenarios.
• UNFOLD #3 Remote Excellence Award: Recognising the highest success rate in remote identity flows during the interoperability testing programme.
• UNFOLD #4 Bridge Builder Award: Recognising testing with the widest diversity of partners, spanning more than 30 organisations across issuer, verifier and wallet flows.

Our earlier participation includes a live demonstration showing how organisations can integrate EUDI Wallet authentication into existing Identity and Access Management (IAM) systems to enable secure passwordless access. Why this matters

Organisations adopting EUDI Wallet capabilities need credentials to work across different wallets, providers and services. Testing multiple formats and interaction methods together helps uncover compatibility issues and improve the reliability of credential exchange.

For iGrant.io, Unfold #4.1 provides an opportunity to test both the Organisation Wallet Suite and Data Wallet with ecosystem partners, build on earlier results and apply practical feedback to continued development.
